On the Wings of the Dragon: Our CSR Commitment to Empowering Dreams
– Yab Dasho Dhondup Gyaltshen, Founder
At Drukair, we believe inspiration has the power to transform lives. When individuals are empowered to dream beyond their circumstances and explore new possibilities, they inspire others, creating a lasting ripple of hope, ambition, and positive change within their communities.
The Tongsa Penlop Inspire Program is Drukair’s flagship CSR and educational outreach initiative, repurposed from the former Tongsa Penlop Rolling Trophy Annual Golf Tournament. The program provides enriching experiences for underprivileged students and teachers selected from remote schools across Bhutan through fully sponsored excursions to selected Drukair destinations during their school holidays. These journeys aim to broaden their horizons, nurture their aspirations, and inspire them to reach greater heights.
Your generosity can open doors, inspire dreams, and create lasting opportunities for underprivileged students and teachers from remote schools across Bhutan. Every contribution matters – and for every dollar you support, Drukair will match it dollar for dollar, doubling your impact and helping each gift go twice as far.
Your support can help open doors, inspire dreams, and create brighter futures. Please reach out to the Program Secretary to express your interest in supporting the Tongsa Penlop Inspire Program, and you will be guided through the contribution process. Drukair will provide a written acknowledgement of your valued contribution – a lasting reminder of the meaningful difference you have helped create.
Drukair will also provide you with written confirmation detailing the amount you have contributed.
The Tongsa Penlop Inspire Program is a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by Drukair that provides fully sponsored educational excursions abroad to underprivileged and special needs students, as well as teachers, from across Bhutan. In December 2018, the inaugural trip brought 44 students and four teachers to Bangkok, Thailand, giving many participants their first experience flying on an aircraft and traveling abroad. Organized with selection assistance from the Gyalpoi Zimpon’s Office, the itinerary combined cultural immersion, educational visits to local institutions like the Dhammajairine Wittaya School, and recreational outings to Pattaya Beach, Dream World, and Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World. Upon returning to Bhutan, the students received a royal audience with Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen and Hon’ble Yab Dhondup Gyaltshen, capping off an inspiring initiative designed to motivate students toward academic and personal excellence.

Departing for Bangkok on December 23, 2019, the students engaged in cultural exchanges at Dhammajairine Wittaya School, visited the Royal Bhutan Embassy, explored local attractions like Khao Keow Open Zoo and Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World, and toured shopping centers before returning home on December 28 with expanded perspectives and renewed motivation for their studies.
